Reasons behind the success of Delhi Acers

Men’s Singles

The area where Delhi Acers dominated and destroyed most of the other teams.

They used the three players Tommy Sugiarto, Ajay Jayaram and Rajiv Ouseph with outstanding precision.

They only lost one match and won all the other 13 of them, 4 of them being Trumps.

Tommy Sugiarto was at his personal best smashing more than 220 smashes even beating Lee Chong Wei in the tournament’s league stages.

Clever trumps

If we look at the statistics, they have got a 100% success rate with Trumps. Never lost a point due to Trump loss.

They had a brilliant strategy analyzing themselves and opponents and picking the trumps accordingly.

Mixed Doubles & Women’s Singles

The only areas where Delhi looked weak but even there they managed to eke out some points defeating some weaker opponents and playing their part in the rally to finals.

In the finals ,they tried their best but could not prevent the opposition from taking some valuable points away from the team.

Role of Men’s Doubles when it mattered

Koo keat Kien and tan boon Heong were not at their best for the first two matches giving away points with unforced errors, but they peaked at the right time for the team, just before the semifinals beating Mumbai rockets and doing it again in the Finals although it was a very close match.

Crowd support

They had tremendous support wherever they went.

Even Bengaluru felt like their home turf. The owners saw to it that the team gets the maximum support wherever they play which has helped them cause  some upsets in away matches. When the finals arrived, lucky for them it was at Delhi.

Coach: Madhumita Bisht

The Queen of Indian Badminton saw to it that she was there with the team giving advice, cheering them on and always praying for their victory. She also registered the highest heart rate for any coach hitting more than 150 BPM. She was also the brain behind the strategic brilliance of Delhi Acers.

Last but not the least; they had that craving for wins and the will to succeed!!!
